Announcement of the 6th International Film Festival "Golden Sausruko": Honoring Cultural Heritage and Promoting Regional Cinema

The Adyghea Republican Branch of the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation announced the launch of the 6th International Film Festival "Golden Sausruko," which, in previous years, was held under the title "Adygea, I Love You!" according to the event's media partner, Adyghe State University.

Sausruko is one of the beloved folk heroes of the Adyghe (Circassian) Nart epic. This year, the film festival has received "International" status and, in connection with this, has acquired a new name—"Golden Sausruko," symbolizing the deep connection with the cultural heritage of the Adyghe (Circassian) people. This marks a new stage in the project's development, continuing its mission to discover emerging talents in the world of cinema and to strengthen international cultural ties.

In addition to the new name, the festival program has been expanded with fresh nominations and categories. For the first time, a dedicated "National Competition" category has been introduced to showcase films created by filmmakers from Adygea. This marks a significant step toward supporting local content and fostering the growth of regional cinema. Additionally, a new "Neural Network Cinema" category has been added. This year, the organizing committee invited participants to focus on the theme: "Russia's Strength Lies in the Unity of Nations." Films that creatively and artistically express this idea will be honored with special awards.

Applications are accepted until August 15th via this link or by email: kinoadigeya@mail.ru . Works must have been made no earlier than January 2024 to be eligible for the film festival.

The selection committee will be in session until September 5. From September 6 to September 30, the jury will screen the films and announce the winners and runners-up. The festival's program will begin on October 14 with the opening ceremony. An educational program, including master classes and a roundtable discussion, will be held on October 15–16. The CLOSING ceremony and awards ceremony for the winners and runners-up are scheduled for October 17.
